India Vasicak
India Vasicak is passionate about teaching people to dance. She loves to watch the transformation from awkward beginner to confident dancer. She mixes fun and humor with respect for each student. Her teaching style is to combine information with practice so each lesson is fresh and muscle memory can be established for long term retention.

India started teaching in 2002 at Arthur Murray where she taught for three years.  She has been teaching around the Cherokee County area since 2006.  Some of the venues where she has taught are the G. Cecil Pruitt YMCA, River Green, Harmony on the Lakes, The Dance and Music Academy of Woodstock and many others.

I didn't even know people still did this stuff and I didn't grow up dancing, except for those three times I embarrassed myself (full-disclosure because someone out there may remember having been there).  Around thirty-something, I met up with some new friends and discovered they danced ballroom.  It was interesting enough to watch, but I didn't sign up for lessons for another two years.  Wow!  Watching someone else doesn't do it justice.  It's fun, no doubt about that, but the physical and intellectual challenges will keep you motivated as well.  Also, you'll listen to music with a whole new perspective and understanding, you'll soon be able to tell a rumba from a cha-cha as easily as country music from disco.  Okay, so I'm hooked and fascinated with dance and now I hope to watch all of you fall in love with dancing too.  It really is one of life's greatest joys.  And if anyone is sure they can't do it, I know that you can and I'll be happy to help.

I studied Contemproary and Ballet dance at Oakland University Michigan for 4 years.  My husband and I have been dancing and competing in ballroom and country dances for over 10 years.  In past competitions I have placed 1st in the Cabaret Division, 2nd in Advanced Hustle, and 4th in Advanced Swing.  I was on a Ballroom Dance Team and a Country Line Dance team for 2 years.  For me, dancing brings out those little things called "endorphins".  Dance is a natural high for me!

I enjoy teaching others the art of dance because I know how much joy it can bring to your life.  It is great for your body, mind and soul.  I look forward to teaching you!

 Student Reviews

  •  I had a very good time and was able to dance during the whole meetup. The beginning lessons were informative. More importantly, if I didn't know a dance or step during the rest of the evening, John or India were happy to show me. On we danced. I hope people from other studios, clubs and just interested individuals will come so we can have a regular dance community up in our neck of the woods! Marilyn Moore“
